When you click on a hex containing units, you will see the hex marker
over that hex, a list of units in that hex will be displayed to the right
of the map, and a summary of the 6 module-specific values for the units in
that hex. Module values may either sum the total of a specific value or
show the lowest value in the stack (see menus). If there are more than six
units in the hex, the bottom button will be down arrows. Pressing the top
and bottom buttons will allow you to scroll through the list. If a unit
has moved already, it will be marked with a "M" beside its name. If a unit
has participated in combat, it will be marked with a "C" beside its name.
These flags may be cleared from the "Flow Control" menu. There are two
ways to move units. If you wish to move an individual or specific group of
units from a stack, simply click on the button containing that unit in the
list of units in the hex. The selected unit will be extracted from the
stack and will follow your cursor until you put it down. You may select
more than one unit from a stack in this fashion, but you may not select
units from different stacks. If you wish to move a whole stack of units,
you may do so by double-clicking on the stack you wish to pick up. An image
of the top unit in the stack will follow your cursor around.
If you wish to return a unit to it's starting position, you may do so by
picking it up if you're not already carrying it, and pressing the "Undo"
button above the attack combat box. The unit will be re- turned to the
position it was in when the last replay clear option was executed from the
menu.
To move units normally the "Movement/Combat" button at the bottom of
the screen must say "Movement." If it says combat, units may only be moved
to combat boxes, or returned to their last position by pressing the "undo"
button.
When the "Movement/Combat" button says "Movement", the replay recorder
will record every hex a unit "touches" on its way to its final
destination. To "touch" a hex, the user would single click in the hex. For
example, a unit is picked up, then each hex along its path of movement may
be clicked on once, indicating the unit passed through that hex, then the
unit is placed in it's destination by double-clicking. During the replay,
the entire path of movement will be indicated. Note that the "touched"
hexes don't necessarily have to be contiguous.
